SASSIE can work with Consortiums and Public Entities/Systems to help establish clear expectations of protocols for institutional members and consistency in system structures for international program offerings. A system-wide independent assessment can help to identify focused areas for improvement and and ways to maximize resources to meet the system’s objectives. Trainings can be developed as offerings for members in a Consortium or System with an option for customized follow-up with individual members according to needs.

System Assessment and Infrastructure Needs (SAIN) Designed for systems that want to better understand the overall existing structures for international health, safety and security at member institutions and make improvements to structures to provide consistency and support stronger duty of care for international programming.

This package includes an in-depth assessment of each member institution’s current infrastructure to support international programming, identification of challenges across the system and targeted recommendations for improvements to strengthen safety and security support, collaboration and consistency amongst system members.

It includes focused visits with key stakeholders at each institution as well as discussions with system administrators. A presentation of findings and recommendations will also be provided. The length of time to complete a SAIN package depends upon the number of institutions involved, but can often be completed in a period of 1-2 months.

Focused Assessment and Protocol Development (FAP) Designed for systems that want to better understand the existing structures for a particular focus area at member institutions and make improvements to structures to provide consistency and stronger support to the focus area. Common focus areas include Faculty-Led Programming, Non-Credit Experiences Abroad, International Internships and Student Research and Student Mental Health.

This package includes an in-depth assessment of each member institution’s current infrastructure for the focus area, identification of challenges across the system and targeted recommendations for structures to provide improvements in the focus area amongst system members.

It includes visits with key stakeholders at each institution as well as discussions with system administrators. A presentation of findings and recommendations will also be provided. Delivery of a training for the focus area can be added to the package at a reduced fee.

The length of time to complete a FAP package depends upon the number of institutions involved, but can often be completed in a period of 1-2 months.

Customized Trainings

Trainings for Consortiums and Systems are designed to strengthen safety and security knowledge and response for a specific population or focus on a particular group of travelers.

A training package includes pre-training discussion and identification of desired outcomes; an in-person training, typically 90 minutes in length for up to 12 participants; and a written assessment of the training that includes recommendations for follow on activities.

Trainings for Consortiums and Public Entities/Systems are typically $1500/training.
